Standing Ovations Ovarian Cancer Foundation is a non-profit organization joining the fight for Ovarian Cancer awareness. The primary focus of Standing “O” is to educate the general public of what is called the silent killer. The National Cancer Institute estimates that in 2012, about 22,280 new cases of ovarian cancer will be diagnosed and 15,500 women will die of ovarian cancer in the United States. While the ninth most common cancer among women, ovarian cancer is the fifth leading cause of cancer-related death among women, and is the deadliest of gynecologic cancers. In addition, Standing Ovations Ovarian Cancer Foundation provides support for survivors and their families financially, spiritually, and through family oriented activities.
As Standing “O” continues to grow, our message of awareness through early detection and education will be at the forefront of our fight. We vow to work together with other foundations and programs that focus on Ovarian Cancer; the greater the number the greater the message. We believe that keeping the general public abreast of news and research will provide hope, direction, and life to survivors.
